Switch from NetNewsWire to Feedwright
You take your NetNewsWire subscriptions along as an OPML file, exported on iPhone, iPad or Mac. Open it in Feedwright and keep reading as before, and follow sites without a feed as well.
How do I take my subscriptions from NetNewsWire on iPhone or iPad?
- On the Feeds screen, tap the settings button.
- Tap Export Subscriptions.
- If you have several accounts in NetNewsWire, pick the account.
- Save the file, for example in iCloud Drive.
How do I take my subscriptions from NetNewsWire on the Mac?
- In the menu bar, choose File › Export Subscriptions….
- If you have several accounts, pick the account.
- Save the file, most easily in iCloud Drive.
- Click Export OPML.

How do I open the file in Feedwright?
Tap + and, at the very bottom, Import Subscriptions (OPML)…. Pick the file. Feedwright shows how many feeds it took over and fetches the first articles right away.
What comes over from NetNewsWire?
All feeds with RSS, Atom or JSON Feed, along with the folders in the file, which become categories in Feedwright. Feedwright recognises subreddits and YouTube channels by their address.
How many feeds can I bring?
The app includes 15 sources. With Feedwright Plus all your feeds come along. Subscriptions you already have are not added twice.
What does Feedwright add?
You can follow sites without a feed, see Follow any website. Pages with no articles at all you keep an eye on for changes, see Monitor websites for changes. Everything sits in the same list as your feeds.
Do I need an account for Feedwright?
No, Feedwright needs none. Your subscriptions sync between iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud.
