Google Calendar alarms on iPhone and iPad
Peal turns appointments from your Google Calendar into real alarms that ring through Silent mode and Focus. Peal needs no login with Google: it reads the appointments iOS already has on the device.
How does Google Calendar get into Peal?
Through the iOS Calendar app. Set up your Google account once in iOS Settings, and Peal sees it too:
- Open Settings, then Apps → Calendar.
- Under Calendar Accounts, tap Add Account and choose Google.
- Sign in and leave Calendars switched on.
- Open Peal. Your Google calendars now appear under Rules, each with its own switch.
If the Google account is already there, tap it and switch Calendars on.
Do you use the Google Calendar app?
Then add the account in iOS Settings as well. Peal reads the calendars the iOS Calendar app shows, and appointments that only live in the Google app don't arrive there. You can keep using the Google app alongside.
Which Google appointments ring?
You decide:
- Calendars Every Google calendar gets its own switch. The work calendar rings, the personal one stays quiet.
- Keywords Only appointments with a particular word, such as a client's name.
- Invitations Appointments you declined or that were cancelled stay quiet.
- Quiet hours and lead time When nothing rings, and how many minutes before the start the alarm comes.
Under every appointment it says when it rings, or why it stays quiet.
What happens when a Google appointment moves?
Peal moves the alarm to the new time as soon as it sees the change. The help page shows how Peal stays up to date.
Common questions
Does Peal need my Google password?
No. You set up the Google account with iOS. All Peal needs is permission for your calendar.
Does a Google appointment ring when the device is on silent?
Yes. An alarm from Peal comes through Silent mode and Focus. Google's own reminder is a notification and stays quiet then.
Can I use more than one Google account?
Yes. Every account you add in iOS Settings shows up in Peal with its calendars. You switch work and personal separately.
A shared Google calendar is missing in Peal. What now?
Check under Calendars in the Calendar app whether it is shown there. What the Calendar app shows, Peal shows too.
